Broadway Seasonal Lunch
3rd May 2010
Broadway Seasonal Lunch

Our Spring Seasonal Lunch at Russell’s of Broadway was another huge success. Over 70 diners attended to enjoy a fine three-course meal cooked by top chefs at Russell’s of Broadway, with food supplied by us and our local suppliers, all for an amazing £18 per head, including drinks.

To start, guests were treated to a warm tomato, olive and Cotswold Blue brie tart with balsamic syrup, with the brie supplied by Simon Weaver Brie from Stow-on-the-Wold. This was followed by pan-fried cutlet of Gloucester Old Spot with leek mash, apple compote, glazed carrots, spring greens and mustard sauce. The pork was supplied by Martins Meats in Gretton, and the mustard by Shaken Oak from Witney. Dessert was bread and butter pudding with Oxford Marmalade ice cream, with bread supplied by The Bread Company in Tewkesbury. To round up a fantastic lunch, coffee and biscuits were served, with biscuits from 4 Angels of Moreton-in-Marsh. The mouth-watering menu also included local Hayles Farm apple juice and fine wines supplied by our wine experts, Vinology, from Stow-on-the-Wold.

As well as enabling people to enjoy top quality local and seasonal produce, our seasonal lunches also help to raise money for local charities. Proceeds from the lunch will go to the Broadway charity, Signpost, which supplies signing and information for the elderly. There was also a raffle during lunch which raised a further £170 for the charity.
